My rear tires are rubbing. The tires are a bit over sized but is there an easy way to stiffen up the suspension? It is very soft and could used the extra boost. Any ideas on how to do it? Would traction bars be sufficient?

Air shocks in the rear.

That sounds dirty! Haha and would you add a leaf to the springs? Or could you add a leave to stiffen it? I would love air shocks but it depends on how pricey.

Something like this and easy to install.

Have you ever ran these?

My old shop we did quite a few. Not hard, a few bolts each and run some plastic air line from both shocks to an air valve under the rear of the car or in the trunk.

And with just any regular compressor you can pump these bad boys up? Or does it come with some adapter for it. I haven't done these so im curious what i am getting my self into. I have fresh shocks about a year old so those are easy replace.

yes, very easy to pump up. Any compressor or local station with air.

Ever try those spring helpers?I might go with bags as i found some cheap but what about those spring helpers? i want to lift up the rear about an inch or so. besides bags would those work?

Given the age of your Car there is a good chance the leaf springs have partially failed. One of the standard fixes is to add another leaf to the set.

You can also remove the springs and take them to Dunbar in Phoenix and get them re-arched. Not sure of the cost but it's another alternative. Just a thought.

Another choice is shocks with coil springs....kinda redneck but its a choice...lol

The coil over shocks? I saw those for 70 at checkers. how stiff would they be? I heard from Trucker on HPS that Dunbar does re arch them. He said over a hundred.
