AZMGT ( Tony ) & I lowered my 1966 this weekend.

http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/Default.asp really liked me.

Anyway Tony and I lowered the old Pony 1.5 inches in the front and 1 inch in the rear.

Here is Tony washing his Cobra.

We replaced the spring perches and got new bilstein shocks from So-Cal speed shop.

Look at the stock spring that is compressed next to the new spring.

Ya, I'm happy with the lowered look. Today I'm going to install a 1 inch front sway bar.

I am happy with the new set up. Car almost handles like an import. Infact coming back down the twisty mountain road from Granite Mountain where I took some pictures, I was followd by an 06 stang.

Twas funny that he would stay with me but I would leave him in the corners. Every set of corners I was taking up a nice line and he would fall way behind. Once we got out of the corners he would nail it to catch back up.

Well at least I thought it was funny that I was out corning him in an old 66

sweet66, looks good man. Throw a +2 size rim and tire in there to fill up that fender well. Then you will catch yourself standing in the garage holding a beer staring at your ride!! :icon_razz:

Looks nice. Rear looks cleaner now without the leaf extentions.
I want to drop my rear 1". Thinking about a 1" lowering kit but I have 225's in the rear and it will be close..

That spring compression tool looks like an Autozone free rental item.
I used the same setup when a put a lift on my Taco. I hope you had an air tool. I wrenched mine by hand....what a B....

Tony (AZMGT) owns the spring compressor. Yes we had air, but we couldn't always use it due to tight spaces. The tool would compress so far and then it would rub against the spring. The air rachet wouldn't stay on any longer and the rest had to be done by hand.

I still haven't installed my sway bars yet. Instead I have been cleaning up coolant that sprayed all over the passenger side floor when the heater core decided it wanted to puke. New one is on back order but should be shipped next week.
