I've been struggling with a poorly operating Hurst shifter and a clutch that defied proper bleeding, but both have been fixed. I put my factory shifter back in and bled the devil out of the clutch, and both performed fine at the track today (Mason-Dixon Dragway, Maryland). Here are the numbers:

60----1/8---mph--1/4-----mph
1.741 8.395 83.88 13.060 109.33 (granny shift normally)
1.724 8.300 82.32 12.911 110.33 (granny shift FAST, best ET and MPH)
1.742 8.309 84.56 12.967 109.47 (speed shift, missed 1-2 shift)

I was hooking ok, nowhere near the usual 1.68-1.7, and top speed was great, but I was still choking in the middle. After getting home, I discovered that the setting on my Raptor shift light was set to 5700, NOT at 6200. I don't have a clue who could have done this, much less when, but based on my times all season I suspect one of the performance shops the car was in last winter. It's something I've never checked but guess I should have. Since my rev limiter in the tune is set to 6500 (guess I should double check that too), I thought I was shifting at 6200, 50 rpms below where the software kicks in a lean condition 250rpms below the rev limit. But I've been apparently shifting all season 400rpm below peak power (~6100 on my dyno sheet: http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t32/jwgroovin/dynocams.jpg).

Well, next time I'll definately shave 1-3 tenths off. In a few weeks I should have my BMR Level 1 rear drag race package installed, and underdrive pullies. Then I'll get out there again. I see folks are chasing 11s in these S197s, and maybe I'll get close too...
