wow i mean.... its going to be an extremely close, extremely slow race.

id give it to you since his will likely be a lot more worn. with both engines fresh, itd be close since his is manual

its def gonna take a long time to get down the track. so its basically gonna come down to my launch. were going to do the best of 3 races. he has never been down the track before. but im pretty nervous.

want to hear something awesome? im running on 5 spark plugs instead of 6. the #1 boot doesnt have the sleeve that connects to the plug so now i have to go and buy a new boot.:hissyfit: plus a full tune up.

eh cost too much unless the performance outweighs the cost.

Man, I wonder what the times are going to be? Any estimates?

its kind of a ghetto track. no time boards only time slips. the burnout pad has water on it and water on the starting point. so when i start y r/t is over 1 sec because my tires keep spinning. and i dont want to burn out too much because im using my street tires (dont think i even need to). oh and the track is on a 1% incline (maybe more). last time i went i was running on 5 sparkpulgs and was hitting 18.21 at 86mph:frown: i hope that once i get the plug fixed my time will improve. but he has never raced at the track before. but the race is set for the 17th so i will be posting pictures (dont know how to upload videos).

I think you'll win, but getting your car running properly is more important. I would not take it to the track until you are 100% sure it is running correctly.

So you were racing uphill on a wet track missing a spark plug?

Reminds me of the old stories my parents would tell me about walking to school in the snow, without shoes, uphill both ways lol

Just imagining the run makes me :z7shysterical:

Goodluck and when in doubt:
:NOS1: :laughing::laughing::laughing:

thats what my friends keep telling me to do. but i were to get n02 there will be 6 pistons flying through my hood. lol.
so i went to summit to get my plug coils and had none in stock. so im checking a couple other places but if none have them i will have to settle for aftermarket:bouncy:
oh and about2bite, sorry to hear about your car. i had similar things happen while i was in high school

I was joking about the nitrous, but get the car running perfecly before you race it, I would just run them for fun if it were me. Racing for money is overrated.

Goodluck and have fun :pinkthumb:

Thanks and it's fixed now, had both front windows retinted so they matched and will be ordering the clutch shortly.

I actually had it back together the next day, i'm just that meticulous about my stuff :icon_cool:

But that doesn't mean i'm not still on the hunt

glad to hear that its all fixed.:bouncy: i would be too. you should set up some survalence cameras so when those bastards do come back you will be ready.

ya i went out looking for the spark plug wires today. summit only had aftermarket ones for about $200. so i called my friend that works at kragen and he said that they have a set for $44 which i will be picking up tomorrow. im changing my fluids before the race. so my car should be running pretty well.

i thought we were just running for fun but he's a little cocky and wanted to put some money down which i thought would be like 10$ but he wants toput down 50. im a full time student at a local college and am currently unemployed. so im thinking about 10.
just hope i win.

Here's a tip! If you are running street tires go around the burnout pad. Don't get the tires wet and forget about the burnout completely.

Built4speed
05-09-08, 11:24 AM
that would be a good idea except in order to line up you have to go through the pad. like i said its a really small track. nothing like firebird or speedworld. the bleachers only hold about 20 people and its about to break. lol
if i could bet 50 gand i wouldnt have the V6. if only i were rich....

well i just got back from getting my spark plug wires oil and filter. just witing for the engine o cool off. i made a new wager. my friend is moving into a new apartment so i offered him my old 350$ punching bag set and my 100lb bench set. he was prety excited about it and said that he "might have a good stack of cash." so i might also put a couple bucks along with everything else.
