BurnTire
06-17-06, 11:53 AM
Firebird can do a good job also. As long as there are no ricers dragging water to the starting line. LOL

I prefer SW but Fireturd would work just fine. It's a great excuse to get my car to the track.

Come on guys only 10 votes.
Voting lets me know how many are interest.
We are going to need more than 10 to make this a reality.

BurnTire
06-26-06, 05:47 PM
Firebird is about $4200 for a daytime rental.
I will get speed world info soon.
We need to get 100 cars to make this work.
$40 is reasonable to have the track to mustangs only.

blacksunshine
06-26-06, 05:59 PM
I'll definatly go either way, but speedworld is my first choice.

Indy
06-26-06, 06:50 PM
Prefer SW but I'll go to either one!

Olivas
06-26-06, 07:08 PM
Voted for SW because that's all ever been to, but Firebird is actually closer.

BurnTire
06-26-06, 08:25 PM
It is really going to come down to cost.
I think $4200 is a little steep.
We will see what speedworld comes back at.

What days? Weekday, Weekend? Maybe we can get some more info? Depending on what day!

BurnTire
06-26-06, 09:00 PM
Planning for a weekend.
Weeks days limit too many people with work.
We need to get 100 cars to make firebird reasonable.
I am hoping speed world is lower priced.

AZTERMINATOR

FIREBIRD is the place...6-7 PM when it cools down a little....

We could all meet at McDonalds first say at 4PM then cruise there together.

BurnTire
06-26-06, 10:32 PM
Guy we need to get as many people interested in this to make it happen.
100 cars is the number I am shooting for.
Let everyone you know in the area to get on this board and vote on this thread.
Thanks
Jeff

Firebird would be better for those in Tucson, SW is a long drive or in my case Tow

Speedworld would be better. But either way we'll have two cars out there.

BurnTire
06-27-06, 01:12 PM
I just spoke with speedworld.
The have a few Sunday club day events.
That means only registered clubs can attend that event.
$20 to race $10 to watch.
Usually 5 to 10 clubs show up with about 10-15 cars each.
I was assured that the track would be prepped well.
They will get back to me on the outright rental.

AZSonicSnake
06-27-06, 01:14 PM
that sounds like a good start, we could do up one of those, and see where things go from there.

BurnTire
06-27-06, 01:18 PM
We have 22 votes so far. Get the word out. There are tons of stangs in this town. For a rental to work we need about 100 cars.

BurnTire

In order to participate in the track rental or club day you must be a memeber of this site. So for all the guest looking at this come on in and register and vote on a track.

What I need is for everone to vote on a track. The amount of votes is how I can determine if we have enough cars to rent the whole track. If we can't get 100 then we will have to look at going on club day.

06-29-06, 02:54 PM
if you hit speedworld on wednesdays, its allmost like you have the track to yourself. i was able to go around a ton last night. so much that i made the tranny too hot and it would not go into f%*@(ing gear. but, there were maybe 25 cars, max. and there was allmost never a line. and if there was it was maybe 4 cars deep.

Wed is good, but for a group meeting a weekend would be the best for people who work M-F.

AZMGT sorry I didn't get a chance to come over an introduce myself last night. I was busy trying to help a friend learn how to use his data logger. Looked like you ran pretty consistant last night. I had a hard time hooking after 9:00 or so did you? Still had alot of fun though.

AZSonicSnake
06-29-06, 10:16 PM
i had an issue hookin up all night. lol. i spun it every time through first. then i made my self look like a joke when i went around to many times and my transmission got hot and would not go into third. god, i had to look like such a damn newb. but when i could shift it i was 15.1-15.4 all night. and actually my second fastest run was my second to last run, and it was right around 10pm. so, gonna add some royal puprple to the tranny, and a cat back tomorrow, and i should be a little quicker. then i just need to get a short shifter.

btw, which car was yours?

Well looks like 26 votes so far. We need 100 cars to do a rental.
I have been in contact with the copper state mustang club. They have expressed interest in attending the event. So they may add 20 more cars. The way it looks now the best bet would be to attend speed word on club day, but if we can come up with 50 more cars we can look at the rental. Pass the word. There are tons on mustangs in this town.

I just voted Speed World because it's closer for most of us So. Cal folks (if we count).

It's an odd situation; I can't promote the event over here until I know cost, date and location. Yet we can't obtain that until we have a committed number of attendee's.

The number of folks willing to man-up and drive out to participate will be slim, but it sounds like fun. And, in typical hot-rodder fashion, no one commits early, they just all show up on the day of the event, or not.

Didn't they film a few episodes of "Pinks" at that track? Perhaps I can use that to stir up interest... you know deep inside, everyone in Cali want's to be a movie star, right?

What is the typical DA for this track at that time of year? I think I read it was at 1250' altitude.

Yes they did, quite a few if I remember right. I wanted to go out there but couldn't get the time off. Its a pretty good track when prepped. I have had a lot of fun out there!

If we can't get enough interest I am going to set up a club day event. Only registered clubs will be there. $20 to race and $10 to watch.

Do we have anyone interest in a road course event?????

Voted Speed World my self.

How's the wind, heat and any other info about both tracks? Not that a head wind is anything new to me, but a horrid launching pad is not a good thing.

BurnTire
07-29-06, 03:41 PM
We plan to do this in the fall so heat isn't an issue.
Speedworld assured me the track will be well prepped.
I will have more details on a date and track soon.
Stay tuned.
