I'm thinking about running full slicks and selling the MT Drag Radials that I had two passes on and the drive there.

My question is what size tire do you recommend and is there a formula for the size based on the car set up?

What size wheels can I go with 15x10 or 15x9 or 15X8 and what tire sizes match it?

What is the offset needed for each size rim?

Sorry for all the questions!

Anyone selling any slicks or with wheel combo?

If I do Go with Slicks I'll sell the setup I have..

MT Drag Radials bought in December 305/35/18 with brand new Saleen replicas 18x10 bought from Stage 3.

What size brakes on the the rear of your car?

I believe the rear breaks are stock Mustang ones 11.7" as they only upgraded the fronts to 13".

What gears do you have in the rear and what transmission are you running? I take it you have your rear end all built up for the abuse that slicks put these cars through, correct?

From what I'm gathering based upon your signature I'd run a 28" tall slick either a 15x10 or 15x10.5

I have 3.73 and a stock T56. I have a solid rear in the car and don't plan on going to the track too often. As I move forward I will work on building the rear as needed.

My only obstacle is putting a cage in the car as I'm already below tech time allowed.

Thanks for the suggestion on size.

26x10.5 Et streets is what I have and Ohhhh what a difference. I believe that would be your combo as well.

Except I'd probably run a 28" tall tire with 3.73s and his KB 2.8H. Should see some better times I'd think.

So you have a stock GT rear basically with the exception of the 3.73s? If you've got stock axles I highly suggest you think about changing them and then think about having the torque boxes reinforced and welded. The forces on that rear end with a sticky tire and that blower will tear things up pretty quickly if that's pretty much a stock rear.

I ran my 345s down the track and my trap speed was much slower. That tire is 27+ inches tall. anyone else have any insight on this?

Your 345's are also a bigger heavier tire. So you've added more rotational mass in addition to increased your rolling resistance as you've gone to a wider tire.

Thanks however I'm going to go with something like an ET Drag.

So do you guys suggest 15X10 and a 28" tire? Once the slicks do go on I will work on the rear to beef it up.

For a higher power stick car I like the stiff wall slicks.

28 x 10.5 x 15

Wheels with a 6.5" backspacing.

When I get the auto done I will go back to a wrinkle wall.
