A few of us diehards from MMA can't wait untill 4/10/09 so we are coordinating a pre-45th anniversary cruz.
The date has been set for March 21st.
The cruz will begin in the parking lot of Starbucks on the corner of 59th ave and Thunderbird in Glendale Az.
The tentative plan is to head up north thru Wickenburg, Prescott Valley, Sedona and Payson.
The exact details of the route including planned stops and departure times will be added shortly.
I have arranged for all who plan to come out prior to depature to get a free cup of coffee or 30% off any specialty drinks from the menu. They will also have a deal on food and drink combo's. Refills will be .55 cents.
Stay tunned!!!

Hello All,
I am new to this forum but, definitely not new in a general sense. :icon_cool:

I will print maps and directions for the, "Cars n Coffee Cruz" on March 21.

We can cruise through Wickenburg; Congress; Yarnell; Wilholt; Glen Oaks; Prescott; Prescott Valley; Dewey; Humbolt; Mayer; to Cordes Junction and catch I-17 South to Phoenix.
This cruise is approximately, 196 miles.

If we choose to add the Jerome; Bridgeport; Sedona; Oak Creek loop:
This adds approximately, 118 miles. This would bring the total to approximately, 314 miles.

All those interested, please post your preference.

I vote for either. How's that for diplomacy, http://www.mustangsacrossamerica.com/forums/images/smilies/homer.gif

See you then,
Charlie

That will still be fine. Harry will be joining the ride and he is from Flagstaff. He will be continuing the trip all the way back to Flagstaff.

Just an fYI, when you get to starbucks come see me and I will give you a ticket for the free drink...you do not need to go on the cruz to get one so come on out and see us off, we'll make Jaime feel like he is in a parade.
See you round that bend,
jemal

It was a great time. Except for that plastic sheet that got stuck in my radiator up in Prescott. It did not cause any cooling issues ran at 180 degrees untill we reached New River where my temp started climbing to a little over 200 degrees. thats where we started picking up traffic and the warmer valley temps. this was a great time had by all and I look forward to the next cars and coffee trip. This was way better than sitting in a lawn chair stareing at cars in a parking lot. Lets try and make this once a month with different destinations. Arizona is full of scenic driving areas. What do you say Jamal?

Hey, you know me, I'll drive the whole weekend non-stop if you let me. I can keep the free coffee going if people want to go. We can even throw in some short poker runs with prizes when it gets hot. We will plan something after the 45th anniversary cruz for sure, can't imagine anything bigger than 300 mustangs leaving Las Vegas at the same time right now....goose bumps my friend...big ones!

Just clocked 700+ miles on the route 66 fun run but will be ready again in a couple of weeks. We have a dinner scheduled with all of the Mustangs Across America folks on the 16th so we will most likely make plans for another trip that night. If so I will bump it.
