1986 LX 5.0 HO. Bought a Procomp distributor and the housing is to wide to clear the fuel rail? Anyone run into this problem with an aftermarket distributor?

or if its just the plastic portion of the dizzy, upr makes a slim housing. Mine rubbed on the body of the dizzy so i had to get the rails that kick out for clearance.

The housing is a full billit body on the one I have. What brand are those fuel rails and where do I find them? Those would be perfect.

Procomp distributors are are nice looking but they have too much curve and lousy parts within. Spent quite some time reworking one.

Hope yours works better.

Hmm, maybe when the TFI module goes bad and takes the MSD and coil with it. Luckily for me I was running this on a carb set up so I went back to the factory distributor but still had to replace the MSD (trying out the Summit unit now) and coil.

It was also machined wrong and I could not use the Oring so it weeped oil. A buddy has a conventional distributor that had hte same issue but at least his is still running ok.

I do like the two piece shaft though.
