Car Guy shop drift car build - 86 5.0 LX

We decided simply sponsoring cars on the race track wasnt enough and that we need to actually be out there in our own car getting sideways as well! I am in the process of applying for sponsorship from a few big name companies that will hopefully supply some suspension and exhaust parts to get us started.

The car is 1986 Mustang 5.0 LX 5 speed. It currently has a 5 lug conversion, 13" front dual piston cobra brakes, rear disc brake upgrade, some suspension, cam shaft and other valve train upgrades but thats about it. We have another 8.8 Ford rear end that will be built to replace the rear end thats currently installed. Thats about all the information we have for right now, we plan have it ready by the first 2012 drift event at Firebird. :fingersx:

    Now on to some pics!

    The car "before":

    The Motor "before":

The interior now completely gutted and awaiting some paint:

Some brand new fixed back Corbeau Racing seats waiting to go in:

    floorboards repainted.

    Seats installed

Then decided it would be a good idea to just go ahead and paint everything, looks much better!

Also did an exterior wash to clean off the months of dust this way shes clean before we yank the motor out and ends up sitting for a few weeks.

I also resprayed the taillights to get rid of the blue trim:

We are now in the process of refinishing all the exterior trim. I found another white door sitting in the shop so I will probably replace the drivers door before we paint the actual car. Were going to start pulling the motor in a day or two and start rebuilding that and the transmission.

Would you be interested in a complete motor? It is a low mileage (19k) 302 out of a 85 gt (roller motor). Motor has FRPP E cam, edelbrock performer rpm intake, holley 600 carb, Mac longtube headers. if interested PM me offer.
