    Phoenix Saturday, May 4th

Hello out there in Mustang land. I would like to invite all of you to attend my F body vs Mustang Shoot Out at Firebird Motorsports Park on Saturday night, MAY 4 . 6-11pm
Here is the flyer. These are going to print and I'd like to find places to take them to get the word out. We hope you will consider attending.
We'll have trophy and money brackets, plus car show and burn out contest too. There will be other programs running that night including 6 second 200 mph fuel altereds so, admission will be wel worth it.
    thank you,
    Steve

There is a lot of hype in the news media that Firebird is closing and it is totally false. They are misleading people and I do not know why. I have contacted some of the media to get things straightented out with some luck.
The Gila River community has hired a new track manager who takes over on Sunday. I will be working with him and have the track rented for 3 days and running multiple shows. This is one of them. We are hoping this event will take off and be successful. If so, we will schedule more of them.

I ask you to please help me spread the word about this event.
The new name for the track will be Firebird Motorsports Park. The current manager who leaves this Saturday, owns the name Firebird International Raceway and that, along with him website, is owned by him.

Thanks for your interest and we hope to see you there.

Thanks for your generous offer. I will get you a header to use. I am not familiar with the local Mustang clubs or networks. Of course, I would like to reach them. I was talking to some guys at the Az state fairgrounds swap meet a few weeks back and they recommended this site.
I am a car guy and hot rodder, primarily into vintage Pontiacs from the 50's through the 70s but, like everything. I have a couple of old Fords in my collection. I wish I could own everything but, not possible. Have been running shows and drags in the Phoenix area since 1998.
If this event goes well, we will look into expanding it and , perhaps, offering more classes and adding dates.
    More info to come.

    Thank you again,
    Steve

Hey you may want to go out make sure that you check the condition of the track, because the last show they had with the monster trucks and Robosarus, tore it up pretty bad.

Late today I had another meeting with the new track president and he informed me that they cannot have the new compulink timing systme installed and working by the May 4th event date. Based on this, I am forced to reschedule the event and will not be able to run it on May 4. He feels bad about it because he gave me the go ahead a few weeks back to go ahead and promote the events but, has done all he can.

Took this pic today. The track will be in good working order before they reopen.
