    alarm disabled starter, help!

    Hey guys,

My car alarm has disabled my starter because I tried to start it the other day while it was armed. DUH! Now it will not start. To make things worse the dome light door switch is broken and tells the alarm the door is open. I order a replacement from foxresto for my model year and it doe not look anything like th eold one. I tried hitting the valet button but it still will not let it start. I tried disconnecting the battery and that did not work. Any ideas!?

disconnect the battery, put the key in the on position, and reconnect the battery after 30 seconds.

if that dont work, bypass the alarm lol

    Holy Cow!

I thought for sure it was the alarm killing my car because it has always started fine until after my stupid alarm mishap. But what were the chances of a loose starter wire at the same exact time!?!?! Tightened it up and she started with no problem. I learned alot about my car though!!

glad to hear you fixed it and that it didn't cost anything...... I was glad you had a meter and knew hot to use it. Troubleshooting can be fun when you leargn something and get it fixed.
